Romwe

Last night I was trawling Polyvore for handbags (Details in another post) and came across this other online shop Romwe. After searching most of the categories I was hooked. It is a reasonable and on trend store with quirky pieces and the best part, free international shipping! Most of the pieces are around $50-$70.
Here in Sydney we are heading into the hottest part of the year and Romwe has some really cute, fun, essential summer dresses as well as some winter dresses that I couldn't go past. Here in Australia we call Fall, Autumn and I have always been a fan of the cold so I couldn't help myself, I had to check out the cardigans! I fell in love with quite and few and could easily have posted way more that what I have.

Here is the Summer VS Autumn Romwe pieces.

Have you shopped at Romwe? What are the pieces like?

Halloween

In 2008 I travelled to the US to do a summer camp and I loved every minute of it!! Unfortuntaely we left the US to head to Europe just before Halloween. Going to the US and seeing their halloween celebrations has always been something I have wanted to do!
I've recently seen some DIY Pumpkin decorations which has made me think of other things to decorate.  Thinking frames, vases, jars and boxes...

Check out my inspiration below:

DIYing

Do It Yourselfing is a big favourite of mine!

Here are a couple of DIY projects I have come across - I will update more as soon as I see them!

Personalised Stones - Great way of decorating the garden or home with your own meaningful stones/rocks.  Just use craft cement and cheap baking tins to get the shape you want!

Magnetic Makeup Frame - When I get my his and hers bathroom this will definitely be going up! Magnetic makeup board, great idea instead of ruffling through your makeup back to get the eyeliner right at the bottom! Also keeps your brushes clean and in shape. You could use what ever frame and colour pallete you liked, stick a magnet to your make up and the board, voila!

Ruffled cake stand - This could be used for anything, kitchen teas, baby showers, lolly buffets or just birthday cakes.   Get a round empty box, tip it upside down and cover with ruffled crepe paper or tissue paper. Tie a ribbon around the middle for security and you have your very own cake stand.

String balls - This one I am really excited to try! Blow however many balloons to whatever sizes desired, grab some craft glue and string. Start wrapping the string around the balloon covering the string in glue. Wrap as thick or thin as desired and let dry for 24hours. Once the string has set in place, pop the balloon and pull out. Your very own string balls for hanging or placing in a vase for a table decoration.

String Christmas Tree - Again this DIY I am ultra excited to do. With christmas only around the corner, this cheap and fun DIY will liven up any mantle piece or table setting. Grab a cone shape and complete the steps as the string balls. Ensure that the bottom of the cone is stable so when you take the holder out, they stand straight. Decorate however you feel!

Rope Covered Lanterns - These little lanterns are totally cute and so easy to make. Grab yourself a jar and wrap with rope, securing with some craft glue. Go as high or low as you are wanting. You can wrap anything with this gorgeous technique, vases, lanterns, and candle holders. Happy twining!

Wedding Inspiration

Over the weekend I attended a lovely wedding of some friends in Sydney CBD. The bride looked stunning and the groomsmen scrubbed up very well!
As the wedding season is in full swing, I thought what better way than to help with some wedding outfit inspiration and tips. I have been to quite a few weddings and I always remember 2 things when picking an outfit; Sophistication and subtly.
Weddings are a respectable event so picking something I would wear on a night out with the girls doesn't really go hand and hand with that. Also you never want to out shine the bride, this is her day and everyone there is supporting the union of her and the groom. Picking neutral colours are a great way to not take the shine off her big day. Also remember to never wear white and if you know the colour of the bridesmaid dresses, steer clear of that colour too. That will avoid that awkward, "I wish I was a bridesmaid" look. These are just my opinions and experiences so of course, wear what you feel comfortable.

As always, I had options when picking my wedding outfit. It was either the maxi gown from the amazing Wayne Cooper or black leather accented cocktail dress or my last outfit choice and my pick:  A recently purchased Tokito navy blue dress.

The cut and style of this dress suited a wedding to a tee! Subtle and sophisticated. The collar allowed me to either pin my hair in a high bun or down with soft curls, I chose the latter. After a small makeup debacle, I slipped on the dress and added some ultra high black suede pumps and accessorised with a black faux leather bag and belt.  My amazing boyfriend was apart of the groomsmen and here's a photo of us together from yesterday, him carrying my bag :).

I must admit, my choice was swayed when my dress reminded me of the ever stylish Lauren Conrad's choice when attending Heidi's wedding.

Myer has this amazing dress on sale at the moment for a mere $50! Check it out online or in store and let me know whether you are a fan.

Friday Outfit Inspiration

With Friday only hours away, here is Nikki Read in a great Friday casual work outfit.

Really love everything about this outfit, bright accessories with a splash of leopard! You can easily recreate this outfit with a pair of light denim skinny's, white shirt, bright accessories and a touch of leopard.

Mix up your bright colours! I recently saw these heels online and fell in love. Try and experiment with colours you don't normally wear.

Celeb Outfit Stalking

To keep up with the celeb news and get fashion inspiration, I often trawl through the celebrity sites People and The Daily Mail.

Below is a list of images that have been included in the "last night's look" folder on the People website.

Let me know what you think.

Eva looks stunning in this floor length gown however the closed in pumps just don't finish off the outfit. My rule with Maxi's or floor length gowns are to show some skin. Opt for a sandal, peep toe or strappy heel.  It will give you an elongated leg line.

Really love this summer look, something you would wear to a friends BBQ or lunch near the beach.  Some sort of accessories would looked fab but a great outfit!

Sofia uses her curves to her own advantage and she looks stunning while doing it! For this outfit I would have exed the stockings. With the sun blazing there is no way that she would be cold. Show off those pins, your not revealing the top half.

Some of Sophia's outfits I love and others I hate. This outfit I don't mind but I think the choker necklace seems a little out of place.

Minus the cowboy boots and throw on some Kate Bosworth like booties and this outfit is cute.  To add a pop of colour throw on a turquoise belt and gold accessories.

Really like this outfit but there are way too many layers. Jess needs to get rid of the black bandage top.

I really don't know where to start.

Elegant, simple and chic. Love Love Love.

Another outfit I love, add a gold choker necklace and done! Love

Another sweet outfit, little bare, some accessories need to be added.

I'm really not sure about this outfit. My recent obsession with sequins wants me to love it but there just isn't something right about it.

Let me know what you think about these outfits.
