Style // Pleats

Following on from my previous post about the ahmazing sales that are on at the moment.  Here is a selection of pleated dress from Polyvore that are all under $50! Pleats are a style that if done right they will completely flatter your body.  If done wrong it may resemble something close to a coloured potato sack.  Make sure that the pleats taper to your body in some way.  Whether it’s cinched waist or hip just make sure there is some sort of definition to the shape. 

I always had thought that Polyvore was more of a dreamy designer online store but they have a great mix of both affordable and dream pieces.  

All of these dresses are so versatile as well. Wearing them at different occasions like lunch and dinner dates to work functions to a shopping trip.

This Mango 2 toned pleated dress is a great pick for a lunch or dinner date and at only $30 it is a real steal. 

This Dorothy Perkins pleated dress in wine is a great work dress or formal dinner dress. Accessorise with a Tan belt and gold jewellery. $47

This Navy pleated dress is just $51. Great anywhere dress. 

AX Paris dress is only $27. For a bold statement accessorise with red wedges and a tan belt. 

*My Pick* I love this Mango combi maxi dress. For a mere $30 it is a steal.  This dress is getting me excited for summer and slipping into the oh so comfortable maxi.

Pull and Bear cream pleated dress at $20.

Delias Pleat front dress for $40. Cobalt looks great with neon yellow so if you want to add a pop of colour try in any of your accessories.

$30 Romwe Lace back dress.  

Great little LBD for a mere $45. 

  

All of these dresses are great examples of tapering the pleats to your body.  You can also pair a belt to your billowy pleated dress to create definition.  Just make sure there is not too much material in the dress otherwise the excess fabric will not sit properly under the belt. 

The inspiration for this post lies in the dress below.  This gorgeous Chloe dress, to me, has the Hamptons feel.  (Like something close to what you would wear to one of the Grayson’s parties of Revenge.)  I love everything about this dress and the over the wrist purse is a great accessory.
